After 4 days of frantic pedalling we are hoisting the sails on panasha and making our way over to corsica for the final legs of the mont blanc to mont cinto trip. We have covered already over 700km by bike and foot. We could not summit mont blanc due to impossible weather conditions so we went around it by bike and on foot.
Now we are looking forward to the crossing and the sea kayak leg. We hope to keep the blog upto date, but this will be a challenge due to the wild nature of corsica and the route.
We have had an amazing group of people and we have been introducing them to the planned foundation projects and to the ideas behind Active Earth, that is Peace and Sustainability. We have received amazing support and feedback. We have hours of great footage and we look forward to be able to share this with you through the dvd promoting the foundation.
We have 160km of open ocean left and 150km of coastline to kayak, led by Jim Morrissey. Max and Mark are also all here and this is great, good things are happening and will come out of this trip.....
With the weather improving we may make our way back to Mont Blanc to attempt the summit on skis at the end of the trip. Conditions are still treacherous and sadly a young man was just killed by an avalanche whilst trying to summit. Everyone is in high spirits. Now we must rest as well.

Yves is an accomplished mountaineer and became the 10th French person to summit Everest on his first trip to the Himalayas. Yves’s passion is the mountain and his ambition is to transmit his love for the mountains to others.
Ski Stage
Daron is one of the founders of Active Earth and is a keen adventure sportsman. Daron is also the co-founder of Metage Capital Ltd, a successful UK-based investment management firm. Daron shares his time between working on Active Earth projects and Metage. Daron like Max is planning to complete the whole journey from Mont Blanc to Mont Cinto.

Ralph is an architect and keen climber, skier and snowboarder. Ralph is participating in the ski stage.

Rhiannon lives in Chamonix and works as a French translator, she is a strong skier and is known for her beautiful smile!

Raja is an outdoors all-rounder and has a deep love for his home country of Lebanon. Raja is participating in the ski stage and helping out on the logistics for the cycle stage and hopefully we will see him back again in a kayak and running up Mont Cinto.

Steph is a British adventurer living in Chamonix. An accomplished skier and climber Steph works tirelessly raising money for the Samaritans. This August as part of an all girl group Steph will attempt to summit Cho Oyu in Nepal, sixth highest in the world. You can catch her exploits at www.extremechicken.co.uk

Reini, a Swiss/French living in Chamonix is a physiotherapist by trade and has in the past tended to the French ski team. She is a keen Alpine skier and rock climber and is looking forward to joining the ski stage.

Nino is an inspirational character who is coming along as part of his training for the Arch to Arc challenge. An endurance challenge that will see Nino running from Marble Arch to Dover (87 miles), swimming the channel (22 miles) and cycling to Paris (180 miles), all in hopefully less that the current record of 81 hours.

Karyn is representing South Africa and is a keen mountain bike and road bike racer. She is a well travelled cyclist and was drawn to this unusual event. Karyn is participating in the cycle, kayak and Mont Cinto stages of the challenge.

Nabil is a keen cyclist and has a senior position in Bank Audi. Nabil is currently helping Bank Audi expand out into Egypt and is coming along for the cycle stage

Richard is a physiotherapist to the rich and famous and is a keen all round adventure sports enthusiasts. Richard is representing Australia and is coming along for the last day of the cycle stage, the sea kayak stage and the ascension of Mont Cinto.

Richard was a regular adventure racer, he now spends his time torturing others for a living, working alongside David Fox-Pitt at Events & Activities, which has raised over £20 million for charity through their events. Richard is participating in the cycle stage.

Korbi is the heart of Active Earth and is responsible for the development of training programs for graduates, universities and corporations. Korbi is also taking a key role heading up the Advisory Board to the Active Earth foundation. Korbi is a keen climber, mountaineer, skier, snowboarder and kayaker, he is joining the journey for the cycle, sail, kayak and run stage.

Jed is an outdoor facilitator, philosopher and roving musician, who spreads his love for life through his music. Jed is a keen kayaker and climber and is participating on the cycle, sea kayak, and Mont Cinto stages. Jed will be bringing his guitar and adding some fireside music to the event.

Paddy is one of the UK’s most gifted kayakers and mountain bikers. Paddy is also a keen climber and skier. He works with Active Earth Training as an outdoor facilitator and head guide. Paddy is participating for the the cycle, sea kayak and Mont Cinto stages.

Juliet loves the outdoors and is pursuing a strong interest in cookery, Perma-Culture and sustainable living. Juliet has cycled from Ireland to South Africa and in addition to participating in certain legs of the cycle she is going to help with catering arrangements for the cycle, sail and kayak stages.

David Fox-Pitt is the inspiration behind Events & Activities, which has raised over £20 million for charity through their tough charity challenges. David believes that he should set himself a tough challenge every year, last year he ran the Ultra-North Face Tour de Mont Blanc. This year he is undertaking the Mont Blanc to Mont Cinto and participating in the sea kayak and Mont Cinto stage. David is planning on being one of the first to reach the summit!
Kayak Stage
Peregrine in his youth rowed for Oxford and loves the outdoors. He is also a keen skier and mountaineer. Peregrine was diagnosed with cancer in 2006. After extensive chemotherapy and operations Peregrine is now solidly on the road to recovery and is participating in the sea kayak stage in a double kayak with Paddy Cave to celebrate his recovery.

Alan is a keen runner, mountain biker, skier and hiker. He has Swiss and French nationalities and is a member of the Green party. Alan is participating in the sailing, kayaking and Mont Cinto stages.

Tony has a strong family root in Norway which explains his love of the outdoors, he will join the team for the kayak stage.
